HALF-LIFE MOD - Counter Strike modifies the multiplayer aspects of Half-Life to bring to it a more team-oriented play, and provides the player with an experience that a trained counter-terrorist unit or terrorist unit experiences.  Each side has access to different guns and equipment, as well as different abilities. Maps have different goals such as: hostage rescue, assassination, bomb diffusion, Terrorist escape, etc.   Weapons include the usual assortment of pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, grenades, demolition devices.  One of the best modifications on the market for any game, and it is worth palying.

OUT NOW - Star Wars Jedi Knight II is a dynamic multiplayer game set in the Star Wars environment.  Players will face a variety of powerful enemies, and are armed with an arsenal of weapons including blasters and the Jedi Knight's signature 'the Lightsaber'. You have the ability to use 'the power of the Force, which can be utilised for the good or the bad (if you decide to take the route of the dark side).  The numerous force powers includes Heal, Jump, Speed, Force Push, Lightning, and Jedi Mind Tricks.  Multiplayer provides the opportunity to have a 1-on-1 Lightsaber duel, without interference from other players on the server, so the game can be a real personal grudge match.

COMMAND AND CONQUER - RENEGADE

OUT NOW - Command & Conquer: Renegade is a fast-paced 3D action game set in the gripping C&C universe.  For the first time, you will see the C&C surroundings up-close and detailed, as you fight on the ground among the structures.  Vehicles and weapons made famous by the previous real time strategy game, are your arsenal.   You have more than a dozen vehicles to choose from; you'll be able to zip around on a rocket bike, fry enemies with a flame tank or throw down death from above in an Orca Fighter.  However, there are better FPS on the market, but you will enjoy this game if you are an C&C fanatic.

UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2003

OUT 02/08/02 - Unreal Tournament has been the ultimate in first-person shooters for a while, and it will return in August 2002 with a new instalment called the 'Unreal Tournament 2003'.  The enhanced engine will provide superb graphics, customisation ability and playability.  However, for the moment, the old UT engine is still going strong and has loads of brilliant mods to play, such as Tactical Operations.
